Why Fiddlehead? The scroll, the most sculptural portion of the violin, is a symbol of a sophisticated cultural achievement but also a reminder of earth’s ancient, natural life forms. As life renews each spring, the fern fronds emerge to form perfect scrolls. For me, these “fiddleheads” are a continuing reminder that great art must grow out of nature.
